Robert’s main roles at IFG Asia are to provide financial planning advice to mainly Asian-based Expatriates and to oversee the operations of the company in Tokyo. He has 20 years’ experience in the Financial Planning Industry and holds professional qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Insurance in the UK.

He maintains a book of approximately 150 clients in Japan, Greater Asia, and globally. He has a significant degree of experience in administering retirement schemes for International Schools and their faculty in Asia. His clients are represented by Expatriates mainly in their 30’s to 50’s across a broad spectrum of professions, including the legal, banking, and IT sectors.

Robert has a great deal of knowledge and experience in addressing the more complex needs of Expatriates with multi jurisdictional assets who are following internationally mobile careers. He has developed a reputation for prompt and efficient service and being pro-active in communicating with clients as financial markets change and evolve.

Career background
Robert began his career in the mid 1980’s with the Lloyds TSB Banking Group in the UK, and was promoted to its financial planning arm in 1991. Before moving to Japan in 1999, Robert was also a financial planner for Friends Provident and a Broker Representative with General Accident. Robert has been pursuing his career from his Tokyo base for 12 years.

Interests
Robert’s main pursuit is golf and he also runs a popular social get-together for British Expatriates in Tokyo named ‘Brits at Lunch’. Robert hates to admit he is a supporter of Newcastle United Football Club. His wife is Japanese and has a 4-year old son with another child on the way.
